The Augustana women's tennis team placed two members on the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Singles teams and four members on the All-NSIC doubles teams. In addition,
Brittany Gaster was named player of the year while
Marc Kurtz was named Coach of the Year.
Gaster, a junior from Sioux Falls, S.D. is 16-3 in singles matches this season. She also only suffered one loss in singles play during the NSIC schedule. She made the All-NSIC First Team for singles and doubles after helping the Vikings to a 19-0 record so far this season.
Freshmen
Hannah Gebauer of Sioux Falls, S.D. and
Michelle Wadas of Ft. Collins, Colo. earned All-NSIC Second Team honors for singles. Gebauer is 18-3 this season with most of her wins coming at No. 3 singles. She only suffered two losses in NSIC play. Wadas spent most of her time at No. 2 singles and had a 17-4 record this year. She was also 8-2 in conference. The pair also earned All-NSIC Second Team honors for doubles. As a team they were 18-3.
The doubles team of Gaster and
Adrienne Conley of Oconto Falls, Wis. earned All-NSIC First Team honors. They were 16-4 overall this season.
The Vikings will continue their season tomorrow as they take on Minnesota State at 8 a.m. at the NSIC Women's Tennis Championships.
