Augustana Softball Places Three on Daktronics All-Central Region Teams

Three Augustana softball players have been named to one of two 2010 Daktronics All-Central Region Teams. Sophomore Ashley Meyer earned first team honors while freshman Jenny Brown and junior Traci Fransen were named to the second team.

Meyer was named to the first team after ending the season with a 20-7 record. She collected 121 strikeouts this season in 170.2 innings pitched and leads the team with a 1.56 ERA. She was also named NSIC Rookie of the Year earlier this season.

Fransen was named to the second team as a third baseman. She is second on the team with a .382 batting average on the season and leads the team in home runs with 15 and RBI's with 66. Fransen was also named to the All-NSIC First Team earlier this season.

Brown earned second team honors as an outfielder. She leads the team with a .386 batting average and in hits with 78. She also stole 11 bases this season. She was also named to the All-NSIC Second team earlier this season.

The Vikings ended the 2010 season 46-14 after losing to Wayne State in the Central Regional Championships.
