No. 21 Augustana still in 10th at nationals

ROUND 3 RESULTS

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - No. 21 Augustana shot a 330 in the third round of the NCAA Championships on Friday and remained in 10th place with a 999 at the Persimmon Ridge Golf Course.

Nova Southeastern, which is at 929, has a 10-stroke lead over Florida Southern through three rounds.  The Sharks own the top-two individuals in Daniela Ortiz (8-over 224) and Abbey Gittings (9-over 225).

Emily Kvidera's 19-over 235 has the junior tied for 12th.  She fired an 8-over 80 on Friday.  Maggie Leland put together her best round of the tournament with a 4-over 76 and moved into a tie for 20th at 24-over 240.

Allie Ostrander came in at 8-over 80 in the third round and is tied for 28th at 27-over 243.

Jennifer Benoy (65-over 281) is in 67th, and Kelsey Bortnem (78-over 294) is in 70th.  Benoy shot a 22-over 94 on Thursday, while Bortnem fired a 24-over 96.

The course conditions were favorable on Friday, with little to no wind.  The Vikings' 330 in the third round was one stroke worse than Thursday's score but 10 strokes better than Wednesday's.

Augustana is making its fifth-straight appearance at the NCAA Championships; the program's best finish came in 2007-08 when Peggy Kirby's team placed eighth.

The final round is on Saturday.
