Augustana's men's squad earned 34 points and trail Minnesota State, who tallied 72.5 points on day one after completing six events.  The Viking women racked up 25 points, 31 points behind leader University of Sioux Falls who grabbed 56 points on the opening day after finishing seven events.

The men's and women's distance medley relay each recorded fourth-place times and earned five points for their teams.  The men finished in 10:28.51 and the women clocked a 12:28.16.

CJ Ham started the day off for the Vikings with an eighth-place toss in the weight throw.  Ham's heave of 15.42 meters earned him a point for the men's team.

The men qualified eight runners for final heats to take place on the second day while the women earned five qualifications.

The Vikings will conclude the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships tomorrow, beginning at noon.
