SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - No. 20 Augustana (13-4, 6-3 NSIC) will be on the road this weekend as they travel to No. 5 Minnesota Duluth ( 14-4, 7-2 NSIC) on Friday and St. Cloud State (8-9, 4-5 NSIC) on Saturday.
The Vikings are coming off sweeps of Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State at home, and will be looking to carry that momentum into this weekends match-ups.
Augustana goes into the match against the Bulldogs trailing in the all-time series, 31-9. The Vikings dropped the last match played between the two schools in three-sets a year ago. When the Vikings meet the Huskies in St. Cloud they will go in with a 43-21 advantage in the all-time series, including victories in nine of the last 10 meetings.
Augustana was led a week ago by redshirt freshman
Lauren Waite and sophomore
Ashley Wilson. Waite earned 22 kills last week, including a .650 hitting percentage against Minnesota Crookston after going 13 for 20 on attempts. Wilson was 9 for 11 in attempts against Bemidji State for a season high .727 hitting percentage. Wilson also set season highs in digs with six against Crookston and services aces with three against Bemidji State.
The Vikings stayed put this week at No. 20 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top-25 poll while also staying in sixth place in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference standings. With a log jam atop the NSIC standings, only three matches separates No. 1 from No.7. Minnesota Duluth sits in fifth in the NSIC while St. Cloud comes in at ninth.
The first serve in Duluth is set to begin a 7 p.m. Friday followed by a 4 p.m. first serve Saturday in St. Cloud. You can follow all the action this weekend via Twitter
