ORANGE CITY, Iowa - The Augustana track and field team traveled to Orange City, Iowa to compete at the Red Raider Open two-day event with Megan Brown taking the top mark in her respective event on Friday.

In the women's 5,000-meter race, Brown clocked a time of 18:36.72 to take home first-place.

Sean Heaton was the top Viking in the men's 5,000-meter race with a time of 16:18.68, for a ninth-place finish. Adam Kost and Thomas Seifert finished 14th and 15th, respectively.

Brody Jorenson took eighth place in the men's pole vault with a clearance of 3.75 meters (12 feet, 3.50 inches).  

Augustana will continue to compete at the Red Raider Open on Saturday beginning with the men's decathlon and women's heptathlon at 9 a.m.
