INDIANOLA, Iowa – The men's and women's DMR squads placed in the top-five on day two of the Drake Relays, while another group had a strong showing at the Kip Janvrin Open on Friday.
On the second day at the Drake Relays, the women's distance medley relay squad of
Emma Anderson,
Irene Almarcha,
Kayla Mescher, and
Leah Seivert took second with a time of 11:50.09.
The men's distance medley relay team of
Paul Yak,
Khor Kong,
Zach Tuschen and
Harald Karbo placed third with a time of 10:08.74.
Kelsey Kaufmann placed 20th in the women's high jump with a clearance of 1.63 meters (5 feet, 4 ¼ inches).
At the Kip Janvrin Open,
Calliann Brunswig took sixth with a clearance of 18 feet and 1.5 inches in the women's long jump.
Kaylynn Erlandson took third clearing 36 feet and 3 inches in the women's triple jump.
In the men's 4x100 meter relay, the squad of
Ryan Heuer,
Justin Greenway,
Jason Greenway and
Nathaniel Wolverton place second clocking a time of 42.38.
Kaitlyn Yoerg led the way for the Vikings in the 1,500-meter run finishing second with a time of 4:42.26. Teammate
Megan Brown recorded a new personal-best time of 4:52.02 to take seventh-place.
In the women's 100-meter hurdles, Almarcha took second place clocking a time of 14.37, Brunswig finished eighth with a time of 15.07. In the men's 110-meter hurdles, Heuer took third with a time of 15.02.
Valerie Moos 400-meter clocked a time of 1:03.67 to tab a sixth-place finish. In the men's 400-meter hurdles, Heuer led the way with a time of 54.67 to take second-place. Greenway [Jason] took third (55.64) while
Zach Jones took fourth (55.94) and
Dylon Van't Hof place ninth (56.90).
Thomas Sittig record a new personal-best time in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.08,
Chris Sharpe earned a time of 51.18. Greenway [Justin] took second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.05.
Gabi Swoboda debuted in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase taking third with a time of 11:32.71.
Keegan Carda led the way for the Vikings with a third place finish running a time of 14:51.11,
Glen Ellingson took eighth with a time of 15:14.86. In the women's 5,000-meter run,
Meritxell Delgado finished fifth with a time of 17:32.78 while
Annie Kruse took eighth clocking a time of 17:46.79.
Augustana will be back in action tomorrow for day three of the Drake Relays starting with the men's and women's 1,600-meter sprint medley.
