BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana University junior guard
Jordan Spencer has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference South Division Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Spencer, a 6-foot-2 guard from Milton Keynes, England, averaged 28.0 points, 7.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in a road split last weekend. He went 20 of 34 (58.8 percent) from the field, including 9 of 19 from 3-point range. Spencer compiled an assist to turnover ratio of 7.5 in 36.5 minutes of play on the weekend.
He opened the weekend with a career-high 34 points to go along with eight assists, six rebounds and two steals at Upper Iowa. Spencer went 13 of 19 from the field and hit a career-high seven 3-pointers against UIU. He knocked down a 3-pointer for his first bucket of the night at Winona State giving him exactly 1,000 points for his career. Spencer finished with 22 points, seven assists and three rebounds in the win over the Warriors.
Spencer is the 34th player to score 1,000-plus career points at Augustana and the 10th player to play for 14th-year head coach

This marks Spencer's second career and second NSIC Player of the Week honor this season. This marks the fourth time Augustana has had a player earn player of the week honors this season.
Augustana closes-out a four-game road swing this weekend. The Vikings will play at Minnesota Duluth at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27 before taking on St. Cloud State in St. Cloud, Minnesota on Saturday at 6 p.m.
