WACO, Texas – The American Football Coaches Association released its All-America teams on Wednesday, and Augustana offensive lineman Sam Lee earned second team honors for his efforts during the 2017 season.
 
A senior from Blue Earth, Minnesota, Lee started all 11 games in 2017, anchoring a Vikings offense that posted 1,674 rushing yards and 2,069 yards through the air.
 
That came on the heals of a 2016 team, led by Lee, that set Augustana single-season records with 5,617 yards of total offense, 3,786 passing yards and 65 touchdowns.
 
Selection Process: The AFCA's Division II?All-America Selection Committee is made up of three head coaches from each of the AFCA's seven districts, one of whom serves as a district chairman, along with another head coach who serves as the chairman of the selection committee. The coaches in each district are responsible for ranking the top players in their respective districts prior to a conference call between the district chairmen and the committee chairman on which the teams are chosen.
