SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana University junior guard
Jordan Spencer was named to the
Division II Bulletin All-America Honorable Mention team. This marks the second All-America honor for Spencer following the 2016-17 season. He was also named to the D2CCA All-America Honorable Mention team.
Spencer, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound guard from Milton Keynes, England, also earned All-NSIC First Team, NABC All-District First Team and D2CCA All-Central Region First Team honors.
He finished the year averaging 15.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game. Spencer dished out 242 assists this year, which is the second most in a single season at Augustana, two shy of his single season record of 244 which he set as a sophomore in 2015-16.
He dished out five or more assists in 27 of 33 games this season, including 10 or more assists seven times. Spencer scored in double-figures in 29 of 33 games, recording 20-plus points nine times. He is the NCAA Division II career active leader in assists with 688, which is also Augustana's all-time career record. Spencer is one of just nine active players in NCAA Division I, II or III with 1,000-plus career points and 600-plus career assists.
Spencer is the fifth player at Augustana to earn
Division II Bulletin All-America honors, joining Cody Schilling, Cameron McCaffrey,
Daniel Jansen and
Casey Schilling.
Augustana made its 14th overall and third straight NCAA Tournament appearance in 2016-17. The Vikings finished 24-9, advancing to the NCAA Central Region Tournament semifinals for the third straight year. Augustana has now won 20-plus games seven times in the last two years, including three straight seasons.
