SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana men's tennis team had a hot showing against Morningside on Friday night besting the Mustangs with a score of 7-0. The Vikings claimed all the doubles matches to grab the doubles point, then went on to sweep all six singles matches. The Vikings now move to 2-1 in dual action for the season.
Starting the evening was doubles action, senior
Logan Barr and freshman
Cade Damgaard came away with a win in the No. 1 slot with a score of 6-2.
Also earning points for the Vikings in doubles action were senior
Frank Kelly and junior
Eden Mrozek. Following the trend was freshman
Tory Shafer and sophomore
Jakson Stoutamire sealing the deal in No. 3 doubles giving the Vikings the nod.
In singles action, Barr defeated Morningside's Jesus Sanz Garcia 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 1 singles slot. Damgaard took No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-2 and in singles No. 3 Stoutamire claimed a win 6-0, 6-3 respectively.
Mrozek brought his winning momentum into No. 4 singles with a final of 6-4, 6-2 to secure another win for Augustana. Freshman
Tyson Cowger got in on the action besting Gabe Deleo in 6-1, 6-1. Closing out the evening with the final win was Shafer besting his opponent with a score of 6-4, 6-2 to secure the Viking sweep.

Men's tennis travels to Fremont, Nebraska, on Saturday, Feb. 22 for dual-matches against Midland and Doane. The Vikings face Midland first at 11 a.m. and Doane at 3 p.m.
