No other player in Augustana softball history has won as many games as Angie Hopkins. When you look at her career it is easy to see why the teams she played on were so successful. For her many outstanding accomplishments on the softball field, Angie enters the Hall of Fame in her first year of eligibility.

The slugging infielder from White Bear Lake, MN averaged 54 wins each of her four seasons. She was instrumental in the Vikings capturing a national championship in 1991 and runner-up honors in 1993. She played on the top three winningest teams in Augustana history – 61 wins in 1991, 69 wins in 1993, and 57 teams in 1994.

At the conclusion of her collegiate career, she had rewritten almost every hitting record for the softball program. She held career record for most games (256)., most at-bats (827), most hits (344), most home runs (34), most runs batted in (211), and batting average (.416).

Angie was selected to the All-NCC team four times. In 1994 she was chosen the league's most outstanding player. She his .473 with 13 home runs, 11 doubles, and 3 triples. She drove in 68 runs and scored 58 runs.

A three-time All-America selection, she reached the top of her sport when she was named NCAA Division II 1994 player of the year by the National Softball Coaches Association.

With so much success it is easy to see why Angie has a difficult time picking only one memorable moment. She wrote, "There were so many memorable moments in my career. Overall, the team accomplishments in 1991 and 1993 stand out. Also, all of the awesome individuals I had the fortune to play with in my four years at Augie."
