Scholastically and athletically, Brent Hoegh ranked with the nation's best during his collegiate career at Augustana.
A physics and mathematics major, he was listed in Who's Who among American college and university students. And by averaging 42.2 yard with each punt during the 1976 football season he established a school record and ranked among the country's top kickers.
Three times Hoegh was named to the academic all-North Central Conference football team. He was voted the Vikings' most valuable defensive back for the 1975 season, and was named to the all-conference team in 1976 and 1977.
In 1977, his senior year, Hoegh was voted a tri-captain and earned honorable mention on the Associated Press NCAA Division II All-America team.
Hoegh had possession of four Augustana records; longest punt (80 yards against Northern Arizona in 1976); best punting average one game (50.7 vs. Northern Arizona); best punting average one season (42.2 yards in 1976); and best punting average career (41.3 yards).
