Dave Neiman, a member of the class of 1969, excellent at both football and baseball while at Augustana.
As a football player, Neiman was a wide receiver and lettered from 1965 through 1969, but it was as a baseball player under coach Ken Kessinger, that Neiman was most outstanding. As a pitcher Dave had a 14-7 record. In 1967 he pitched the first no-hitter in Augustana history.
Dave was also a very effective batter. As a senior he led the team with 26 hits, seven home runs, 22 runs-batted-in and he had a .317 batting average. He held many Augustana batting records following his career at Augustana. Neiman received all-conference honors in both 1967 and 1969. In 1970 the Minnesota Twins drafted him to play baseball in their farm system in St. Cloud.
