Augustana University Athletics

Schultz did not play football before he enrolled at Augustana. He excelled at fullback and helped the Vikings win the South Dakota Intercollegiate Conference championship in 1939. At the end of the season he was named to the All-Conference team. He also lettered in baseball and track.
