Sandbo, during a three year career as the Vikings starting quarterback, nearly re-wrote the school record book for passing, completions, total offense and touchdown passes. In 1967 he set a new North Central total offense record with 3,262 yards and was named to the all conference team.
        
He was also an outstanding baseball player and was picked on the All-NCC team for three straight years 1966-68 as an infielder and outstanding hitter.
