Greg Nagel was a standout basketball player for the Augustana Vikings from 1973 to 1978.
He is the third-leading scorer and the second-leading rebounder in school history, and was named All-North Central Conference three times. On his way to his selection as the NCC's most valuable player in 1977, Greg made 552 points, grabbed 328 rebounds, and dished out 115 assists. That same year he shot 55% from the field and 73% from the line, and averaged nearly 12 rebounds per game. A year later, he led his teammates to the conference championship.
Upon graduation in 1978, Greg migrated to Europe where he played basketball in Lille, France, for a year.
