Jon Falgren came to Augustana in 1954; coincidentally, that was the year his father was named athletic director/head football coach. During his four years as an Augie Viking, Jon starred for three years in football and four years in basketball.
As a freshman, he was a starter on both the football and basketball teams. As a sophomore and junior, Jon started at halfback and at a guard position in basketball. As a senior, he elected to play only basketball.
He was named all-NCC in basketball as a junior and a senior, averaging over10 points per game each season. He was co-captain with his roommate Gerry Ihrke as a senior. He was involved in a variety of campus activities, and was president of the Webs as a sophomore. Jon was Augie's Honor Athlete for 1958.
Jon has been involved in education for many years as a teacher and counselor; he coached basketball for 30 years of his career.
