A gifted athlete, Pete Roback chose the difficult path of competing in two sports at Augustana. Each provided memorable moments,
Football. "Going through a challenging 0-11 year as a freshman and improving to 8-3 as a sophomore with big wins at North Dakota and at home against Northern Colorado."
Baseball. "Winning Augie's first Southern Division championship in 1995. I fondly remember the camaraderie developed each year amongst all the guys in the dugout, at workouts, and on long road trips." Roback owns the distinction of being selected to both All-North Central Conference baseball and football teams. He helped Augustana's baseball team to its first NCC Southern Division championship in 1995. He batted .400, hit four home runs, drove in 23 runs, and stole 24 bases in 26 attempts. He held school records for most runs scored in a season (46) and a career (72) and posted a career batting average of .362. He was selected to the All-NCC football team in 1993 and 1994, and was a Division II All-America football third team pick in 1993.
