Randy Kochenderfer is another second generation member of the Hall of Fame. His dad Maurcie or "Koke" ('34) was inducted in 1972.
In 1975, Randy won the No. 1 singles championship at the North Central Conference tennis tournament. He became one of eight Augie players to capture the crown.
Kochenderfer was the conference runner-up at No. 1 singles in 1974. That season he posted an 8-2 mark during the regular season; both losses were to South Dakota State star Mary Johnson.
In 1973 Kockenderfer was the NCC runner-up at No. 2 singles and registered a regular season record of 9-1. He and Mark Van Hoef won the No. 1 doubles championship at the conference meet that year.
Randy majored in mathematics at Augustana. He was a residence Hall counselor, a members of the Viking Days Committee, chair of the All-Nations Festival, and was elected to the Men's Senate.
After graduating from Augustana in 1975, he enrolled at the University of Minnesota and studied architecture. He opened a private architectural firm in California where he made his home until his death in 1993 at the age of 40.
