Stan Krebs began his collegiate career at the University of Minnesota. After transferring to Augustana he enjoyed great success despite a knee injury that limited his action in his second season with the Vikings.
Despite having his season cut short due to injury, Stan was still named to the All-NCC first team in 1975. He also was an All-NCCTournament selection in 1974. During the 1974-75 season he averaged 14.5 points per game while shooting 60 percent from the field in leading the Vikings through a 15-game winning streak. During 1973-74 he averaged 9.0 points per game. During his two seasons with the Vikings he led them to a 19-9 conference record and a 36-18 overall record.
Stan excelled in academics at Augustana as well. He was an All-NCC Academic selection in 1974-75 and graduated Cum Laude. A History Major, his research paper placed 2nd at the 1975 Student History Conference at Augustana.
His fondest memories include a NCC Holiday Basketball Tournament title in 1974 and a big victory over UNO in Omaha that same season. He also has great memories of his coaches. He said, "Mel Klein and John Thomas can't be separated. They really were the dynamic duo of my years at Augustana."
