During Teresa Hartman's four seasons on the mound, the Augustana softball team won the North Central Conference championship in 1988 and again in 1990, and qualified for the regional playoffs in 1988, 1989, and 1990. The team's win-loss records during Teresa's four years were 35-17 in 1987, 40-15 in 1988, 42-14 in 1989, and 47-8 in 1990.

She set the school single season record for strikeouts with 216, which is currently third on the list. Teresa still holds school records for most pitching wins in a season with 44 and most innings pitched at 350. Her career earned-run-average of 0.56 is currently third in the college's records. Here is an example of her pitching expertise. During a spring trip to Florida, she won all eight games the Vikings played, including a win over the defending national champions. Teresa pitched three shutouts and yielded only one run in the last five games.

As you might guess, Teresa's honors are many. She was named All-NCC in 1989 and 1990, and was also named to the North Central Region team in 1990. As a senior in 1990, she was the NCAA Division II statistical pitching champion, a two-time NCC Player of the Week, and received the NCC Outstanding Player Award and All-America honors. She was also named to the Academic All-NCC team and earned Honor Athlete recognition.

Teresa wrote of a game during her freshman year when they played UNO. Pitching coach Perry Emmons signaled a "walk", and she said "No." Teresa said, "She hit; we lost. But the worst part was the disappointment Perry had in me. That made me realize the importance of team and loyalty. From that point on, Augustana and softball were about a family that helped and supported one another regardless of the situation.
