Three-time All-American Todd Kendle held the school record for career tech falls (22) for more than 30 years until it was broken this past season. From 1987-89, he took home fourth, fifth and third place, respectively, at the NCAA Wrestling Championships and was the North Central Conference champion at 167 pounds in 1989. He ended his college career with a 31-win season and currently sits at 14th all-time with 102 career victories.

Throughout his career, wrestling against South Dakota State was always a favorite of Todd’s. When it comes to his most memorable match, his final collegiate match stands out the most.

“It was my final Division II match. The guy I wrestled against was ranked fifth and I ended up winning decisively.”

Former Augustana coach Ken Kessinger was someone that Todd could count on and was a very genuine person.

Todd graduated from Augustana in 1989. He has owned and operated Kendle’s Auto Inc., in Crooks, South Dakota, for over 28 years. and is a member of the Benton Lutheran Church. He and his wife, Maria, have two children, Tyler and Brittney.
