The true test of a record is the length of time it stands. In 1975, Tom Rogers set records on the football field at Augustana that stand to this day. A bruising fullback and three-year starter, Tom set school records for most touchdowns in a season (20) and most points in a season (120). His 120 points left him third in all of Division II in scoring. During the 1975 campaign he rushed 34 times in one game, a school record that has since been surpassed. He averaged 5.6 yards per carry his sophomore season and rushed for 867 yards as a senior. He was the fifth leading rusher in the NCC in 1975, averaging 91 yards a game, and was second in scoring with 96 points. He was a second team All-NCC selection in 1975.

Tom was part of a very successful era of Augustana football. The 1975 team finished with a 7-3 record, most wins in a season at Augustana since 1942. Tom has great memories of that year.He wrote,"The whole 1975 season was memorable, except the games we lost. We had a great group of seniors and some talented underclassmen. Roger Thomas was our backfield coach. He always made practices interesting, not tedious."
