What a tremendous class of Vikings that we get to celebrate in October. This collection of former student-athletes not only had exceptional careers at Augustana but they’ve gone on to distinguish themselves after their college experience. Every year, it’s my favorite group of phone calls to make - to let them know they’ve been voted to be inducted into the Augustana Athletics Hall of Fame.
Vice President for Athletics Josh Morton

Kristin (Brondbo) Klumper

The 2011 National Champion’s career was filled with numerous distinctions; school records, all-time top-10 program performances, meet titles and NSIC accolades highlighted by six NCAA All-American awards in cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field. She is a four-time All-American in cross country, finishing 15th, 17th, 10th and 10th, respectively, and was a three-time NSIC Champion in cross country. Brondo also earned All-America status in three events across three NCAA National Appearances in indoor track and once in three outdoor NCAA appearances. She has NSIC Championships in the 10,000m (2013) and 1500m (2014) while two of the four school records she set (indoor 3000m and outdoor DMR) have persisted for more than twelve years. Of her 13 Augustana all-time, top-10 performances in eight different running events, 11 still remain.

CJ Ham

CJ Ham

A 10-year NFL veteran, Ham made his mark at Augustana. The running back was the NSIC Glen Galligan Award winner, presented to a student-athlete who has participated at their institution for four years and is academically superior while making a positive contribution to the institution. The 2015 All-NSIC member ranks sixth in program history with 2,662 career rushing yards and fourth with 29 touchdowns. His 35 total touchdowns also ranks sixth. A two-time Academic All-NSIC member, Ham is one of five players in program history to have a 1,000 yard rushing season and is second in single-season rushing touchdowns following his 1,097 yard, 16 touchdown performance in the 2015 season. He also made his mark in track and field, ranking second on the indoor lists in the weight throw with a 19.04 mark and third in the shot put at 16.90m. On the outdoor list, he is second in the hammer throw at 53.54m, fourth in the shot put at 16.16m and sixth in the discus at 44.33m.

Cody Henriksen

A three-time All-American at 165 pounds, Henrikson dominated on the mat. Not only was he a dominant force athletically, but he was also a 2006-07 Academic All-NCC, DII All-Academic, CoSIDA Academic All-District and CoSIDA Academic All-American First Team honoree while dominating in the classroom. Henriksen placed sixth as a sophomore at the National Championships, fourth as a junior and third as a senior. He also earned the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship in 2006-07. When it was all said and done, Henriksen finished with a 75-42 overall record and was a volunteer assistant for over 10 years following his career at Augustana.

Ryan Nodland

Nodland

One of the most prolific receivers in program history, Nodland was a four-year starter and a 2000 All-NCC First Team selection at utility. He truly did it all for the Vikings, closing his career second in program history with 220 receptions (still second) and 2,465 receiving yards (now fourth). On top of that, Nodland was an ace on special teams with a  10.0 career punt return yard average and also returned 46 kickoffs for 888 yards and a touchdown. As a junior, Nodland averaged 113.1 all-purpose yards per game and is ninth all-time with 3,680 career all-purpose yards. Austin Scarset

Scarset

A three-time All-American competing at 157 pounds, Scarset placed 7th, 4th and 4th in his last three seasons, respectively. The 2003 NCC Champion ranks 10th all-time with 259 career takedowns and is one of 20 wrestlers in program history with at least 100 wins. He concluded his career with a 100-40 record, competing from 2002-07. The Vikings were National National runner-ups in 2004-05 after winning the NCC and Region Championships. Scarset finished with three seasons of more that 20 victories and ended with a 28-10 overall record in duals.

Casey Schilling

The program’s second all-time leading scorer and another leader of the 2016 National Championship team, Casey Schilling also finds his name skewered in program history. He was a two-time All-American, was named to the NABC Honors Court, two-time NSIC Defensive Player of the Year and three-time All-NSIC First Team honoree. Schilling

Erin (Seidel) Quist

The 2003 All-NCC First Team selection and Freshman of the Year tallied 46 goals while also holding a program record with 98 points. She tallied 12 game-winning goals, second all-time, and has the top two goal-scoring seasons in program history after scoring 18 in 2003 and 17 in 2004. A three-time Academic All-NCC selection, Seidel also holds program records in single-game goals with a four-goal game against Minnesota Crookston in 2004. Seidel becomes the first member from the women's soccer program to be nominated to the Hall of Fame.

Along with the 10 inductees, The 2015-16 National Champion men’s basketball team will be recognized while a pair of additional awards are given out. The basketball team, led by Tom Billeter, went 34-2, a record that doesn’t include a victory over DI Iowa in a preseason exhibition matchup, and 21-1 in the NSIC. The team won the final 15 games of the season, including four straight wins in the NSIC Tournament and six consecutive wins in the NCAA Tournament. Dan Jansen was the NABC National Player of the Year while Billeter won NABC National Coach of the Year. Casey Schilling joined Jansen with All-America honors while Alex Richter and Jordan Spencer were tabbed All-NSIC.

The Lefty Olson Award winner for lifetime service and achievement is John Schultz ‘86. A former football standout and 1999 Hall of Fame inductee, Schultz has been a mainstay on the radio, serving as a color commentator for Viking football for nearly 40 years while also holding a chair on the Hall of Fame committee.
