Jill Hagestuen was named NSIC Player of the Week following her performance in the Vikings' wins over Bemidji State and Minnesota, Crookston last week.
The Clontarf, Minn. native was near perfect last week in posting two singles wins and two doubles wins. Competing at No. 4 singles, Hagestuen did not drop a game in beating Bemidji State's Kelli Christiansen 6-0, 6-0, and Minnesota, Crookston's Jessica Erickson 6-0, 6-0.
Then, competing at No. 3 doubles, Hagestuen teamed up with Emily Johnson to win 16 out of 18 games. The duo defeated Christiansen and Britney Greenwaldt 8-2 on Friday before beating Erickson and Alyssa Klingenberg 8-0 on Saturday.
She is the first Augustana tennis player to earn the award this season.
