Travis Beniak broke through with his first All-America finish at the Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Beniak placed fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the national meet in Pueblo, Colo. After two years of finishing in ninth place, Beniak had his eyes set on breaking into the top eight.  The senior from Mazeppa, Minn. won his heat and recorded the sixth-fastest time of the event on day one before embarking on his final race.  After sitting in ninth for much of the race, Beniak jumped to seventh with one lap to go and continued to his climb to the top of the leaderboard by picking off three more runners on the home stretch to move into fourth with a time of 9:16.63.
