TJ North (125 pounds, RSo., Elk Point, S.D./Vermillion HS) claimed the only individual region title for the NSIC, winning the 125-pound Super Region 3 Championship to earn a spot in the NCAA Championships on March 14 and 15 in Cleveland, Ohio. North tallied four straight wins to take the title and stretch his 2013-14 record to 30-3, 19-0 against Division II competition. The redshirt sophomore cruised through day one with a pair of 10-2 major decisions over opponents from Truman State and Central Oklahoma. On day two, North punched his ticket to the final and guaranteed himself a spot in the NCAA Championships with a 6-4 over Marco Tamayo of Lindenwood. In the 125-pound final, North took down sixth-ranked Garrett Evans of Ouachita Baptist by 5-2 decision for the first region championship of his career.
