Peter Crawford

Peter Crawford is in his second season as a graduate assistant coach for the men’s basketball program at Augustana in 2015-16. Crawford is no stranger to the NSIC, having played four seasons for the University of Minnesota Duluth from 2010-2014.
 
In 2014-15, Augustana the team won its first-ever Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular season championship before the Vikings went on to win its first-ever postseason tournament winning the NSIC Tournament. Augustana hosted the NCAA Central Region Tournament for the first time in program history.
 
Crawford helped guide Augustana to a school record 31 wins (31-3) in 2014-15, which included a program record 19-game winning streak. The Vikings has the second-best winning percentage of all teams in NCAA Division II (91.2 percent) in 2014-15 and were one of just 18 teams across all divisions with 30-plus wins.
 
Augustana set numerous single season records in 2014-15, including most points (2,955), field goals made (1,016), 3-point field goals made (313), 3-point field goals attempted (754), free throws made (610), free throws attempted (814) and rebounds (1,292). Daniel Jansen also set the individual single season scoring record in 2014-15 scoring 671 points.
 
Crawford was a four-year letterwinner in basketball at Minnesota Duluth. He was selected as a team captain for his senior season at UMD and played in 104 consecutive games, including 44 starts.
 
He finished his senior season finishing 12th in the NSIC in scoring, averaging 15.3 points per game while leading the team shooting 52.3 percent from the field. Crawford shot over 80 percent from the free throw line in each of his four seasons, including 89.6 percent in 2010-11, which ranks second all-time at UMD for a single season. Crawford ranks fifth all-time at Minnesota Duluth shooting 85.2 percent from the charity stripe during his career.
 
Crawford averaged 7.7 points per game during his four-year career at Minnesota Duluth where he graduated in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in communications to go along with a coaching minor.
 
A native of Golden Valley, Minn., Crawford is a 2010 graduate of Benilde-St. Margaret High School where he was named a Minnesota Mr. Basketball Top 25 finalist following his senior year.
 
Crawford resides in Sioux Falls and is pursuing his master’s degree in sports administration and leadership at Augustana.
