Football Notes: Vikings Entertain Minnesota State in Sanford Sports Football Classic

Familiar faces will square off today in Augustana's Viking Days football game as the Vikings play host to the Minnesota State University, Mankato, Mavericks in the Sanford Sports Football Classic. First place in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Southern Division is on the line as Augustana and MSU are the only unbeaten teams left in the Southern Division.

THE SERIES: Augustana holds a slim 19-18 edge in the series against Minnesota State. Since 1999, Augustana has won 7 of the last 9 meetings. However, Minnesota claimed a 26-16 victory in Mankato last season.

TELEVISION: Midcontinent Communications will televise Saturday's game. Tom Nieman will call the game with Al Bahe providing color commentary. The game can be seen in Sioux Falls on MC23. Midcontinent Communications is available in South Dakota and North Dakota. 

RADIO: All Viking football games can be heard on KIKN Radio (FM-100.5). The game can also be heard on the internet at: www.kikn.com. Veteran broadcaster Jeff Fylling will call all of the action, while John Schultz, a former All-NCC quarterback with the Vikings, provides color commentary. The broadcast begins with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to kickoff.

WEBCAST INFORMATION: All of Augustana's football games this season will be webcast on the internet as part of the NSIC's television agreement with Penn Atlantic TV. Fans wanting to follow the action can go to the following link: http://www.northernsun.tv. This season there will be no charge to watch the games but fans will need to set up an account with Penn Atlantic.
