Augustana Women's Soccer Beats Minnesota, Crookston For Third-Straight Victory

The Augustana women's soccer team collected their third-straight win after beating the University of Minnesota, Crookston 3-1 in Crookston, Minn., Saturday afternoon.

The Vikings (11-3-1, 9-3-0 NSIC) got on the board first when senior Katelyn Ley scored her third goal of of the season at the 19:13 mark. With the goal, Ley in a five-way tie for first on the team with 2 game-winning goals.

Sophomore Jill Goodrich recorded her first assist of the season and second of her career on the play.

The offense kept rolling in the first half as freshman Raelyn Walczak scored her fourth goal of the season at the 37:21 mark. With the goal, Walczak now ranks second on the team in goals scored.

The Golden Eagles (2-14-1, 1-9-0 NSIC) scored their only goal of the game at the 71:10 mark when Justine Jones scored on a pass from Kasey Castor.

With the score 2-1, freshman Stacy Dally scored the first goal of her Augustana career at the 86:35 mark, putting the game out of reach for Minnesota, Crookston.

Senior Lisa Jarovski made three saves in net for Augustana to earn her eighth win of the season.

The team will travel south to play Minnesota State University Moorhead (7-6-1, 4-5-1 NSIC) at 1 p.m. in Moorhead, Minn. Sunday.
