The Augustana women's soccer team was able to battle snowy conditions to beat Minnesota State University Moorhead in a 1-0 overtime game Sunday in Moorhead, Minn.
The Vikings (12-3-1, 10-2-0 NSIC) battled MSU Moorhead (7-8-1, 4-7-1 NSIC) in close to two inches of snow for two periods and 13 minutes and nine seconds of overtime to get their fourth-straight victory.
The only score in the contest came from freshman defender Katie Bowman, who took a pass from Ciara Godfrey and found the back of the net for her first career goal. It was Godfrey's first assist of the season.
Augustana put up 26 shots during the game, while MSU Moorhead goalkeeper Andrea Person made 19 saves in the game.
Sophomore Mikhaila Baltes started in net for Augie, making two saves in one half of work. Senior Lisa Jarovski took over goalkeeping in the second half and overtime, making eight saves to help preserve the team's 9th shutout of the season.
Augie returns home next weekend for its final two regular-season games. The Vikings will take on the University of Minnesota Duluth (6-9-2, 6-3-2 NSIC) at noon on Saturday and Bemidji State University (10-7-1, 3-7-1 NSIC). Both games will be played at Yankton Trails Park.
