Augie Soccer Gets Fifth-Straight Victory in 1-0 Win Over Minnesota Duluth

BOX SCORE

The Augustana women's soccer team started its last regular season home stand with a 1-0 win over the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs at Yankton Trail Park Saturday.

With the win, the Vikings (10-3-1, 10-2-0 NSIC) guaranteed themselves a home NSIC tournament match on Wednesday. The conference tournament pairings and game times will be announced following Sunday's games.

Senior goalkeeper Lisa Jarovski collected her school-record 4th shutout of the season and 9th of her career after making 11 saves against the Bulldogs (6-10-2, 6-4-2 NSIC), who took 25 shots in the game.

The school record for shutouts in a season was three, which was set by Tanja Aas in 2000 and by Jarovski set last season. Jarovski recorded her 10th win of the season and 23rd of her career Saturday, which are both Augie records. She is currently 10-2 on the season.

Offensively for Augie, junior defender Alicia DeHaan scored the second goal of her career at the 42:35 mark. Junior Kayla Peek started the play sending an indirect kick towards net that was headed into the net by DeHaan. For Peek it was her third assist of the season.

The Vikings took six shots on goal and two that hit the post in the game, as freshman Raelyn Walczak led the team with two shots on goal.

Augie will play their last regular season game against the Bemidji State Beavers (11-7-1, 4-7-1 NSIC) at 1 p.m. Sunday at Yankton Trail Parks.

Before the game the team will celebrate the careers of their two seniors, Jarovski and Katelyn Ley.
