Augustana rallied from a 1-goal halftime deficit to gain a 1-1 tie at Colorado State-Pueblo Friday in the Vikings' season opener in Pueblo, Colo.
The Vikings trailed 1-0 at halftime after CSU-Pueblo scored in the 31st minute. However, Augustana knotted the score at 1-1 when sophomore
Katie Shandri scored in the 55th minute. The Vikings had a free kick that they played in front of the net. The Thunderwolves couldn't clear the ball
and the Vikings couldn't punch the ball into the net until Shandri finally put the ball in the goal.
The teams were evenly-matched in the statistics as well as the scoreboard. CSU-Pueblo outshot Augustana 20-16, but the Vikings had a 9-8 edge in shots on goal.
Lisa Jarovski started in goal for Augustana. She played the first half and allowed the 1 goal.
