THIS WEEK: The Augustana College volleyball team (7-5, 0-0 NSIC) open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play this week with 3 matches. The No. 20 Vikings will play their home opener on Tuesday, Sept. 16, when they entertain Minnesota State University, Mankato, in a 7 p.m. match at the Elmen Center. This weekend, Augustana goes on the road for a pair of matches. On Friday, Sept. 19, the Vikings will be in Bismarck, N.D., to to face the University of Mary at 7 p.m. Then on Saturday, Sept. 20, Augie travels to Aberdeen, S.D., to take on Northern State in a 4 p.m. contest.
LAST WEEK: Augustana had a tough weekend of play in the Concordia Radisson-Roseville Tournament, hosted by Concordia University, St. Paul, going 0-4. The Vikings lost a close 5-set match to Alaska-Anchorage in their first match of the tournament before falling in 3 sets to No. 13 Southwest Minnesota State. On Saturday, Augustana dropped a 4-set match to No. 3 Concordia-St. Paul, before being edged by Central Washington in 4 sets.
WEBCAST INFORMATION: All of Augustana's conference volleyball matches this season will be webcast on the internet as part of the NSIC's television agreement with Penn Atlantic TV. AUGUSTANA SPORTSCENE: Augustana Sportscene is in its fifth season on UTV cable channel 10 in Sioux Falls. The 30-minute weekly television show airs Saturdays at noon and Sundays at 5:30 p.m. Augustana Sportscene is hosted by Viking director of athletics Bill Gross.
