The Augustana men's and women's track and field teams turned in several NCAA qualifying marks at the Mt. SAC Relays late Thursday night and Friday afternoon in Walnut, Calif.
The Vikings had 3 women and 2 men compete in the meet. Leading the way was
Molly Clark. Clark, a junior from Fargo, N.D., finished seventh in her steeplechase heat with a time of 10:49.72. That mark is a personal-best time for Clark as well as an NCAA Division II automatic qualifying time. Currently, Clark's time ranks her ninth nationally.
Also on the women's side,
Miranda Wagner and
Alyssa Anderson competed in the 10,000 meters. Wagner finished sixth in her heat with a personal-best time of 36:07.16. The standard is also an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark. Anderson finished 24th in her heat in a time of 38:00.75.
For the men,
Travis Beniak and
Daniel Black turned in personal-best performances in the steeplechase. Beniak was clocked at 9:23.80 to finish 12th in his heat. His time is a national provisional qualifying mark and ranks him 17th nationally. Meanwhile, Black recovered from a fall during the fourth lap to turn in a time of 9:46.36 to finish 17th in his heat.
Black also ran in the 1,500 meters on Friday. His time of 4:06.23 placed him 60th in his heat.
