The Augustana men's tennis team capped the home portion of its schedule with a 7-2 loss to Minnesota State University, Mankato, Sunday afternoon at McKennan Park.
The Vikings slipped to 5-10 on the season.
The dual opened with some close doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, MSU's John Julian and Chris Webber edged Augustana's
Ryan Gardner and
Jared Drenkow by a score of 8-6. At No. 3 doubles, Augie's
Jonathan Hawkinson and
Ben Aslesen fell to Dan Zastrow and Chad Berger 8-4.
In singles play, Augustana earned wins from Drenkow at No. 2 singles and
Neal Gregerson at No. 5 singles. Drenkow beat Webber 6-1, 6-0, while Gregerson topped Zastrow 7-6 (7-5), 6-1.
