The Augustana women's soccer team lost its final game of the Northern Sun Soccer Festival Sunday at Yankton Trails Park. The team fell 2-0 to Winona State.
The loss drops Augie to 3-3-1 on the season while Winona State improves to 3-3-0.
The game was scoreless through the first half, with Augie outshooting the Warriors 11-5 at halftime.
Winona State's Amanda Dennis scored an unassisted goal at the 57:42 mark to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.
Despite many close opportunities, Augie was unable to answer with a goal of their own. Dennis scored again off of a rebound at 68:01, building the Warrior lead to 2-0.
Augie had 10 corner kick opportunities in the game but couldn't seem to find the net. Junior midfielder
Katie Shandri led the Vikings with six shots, four of which were on goal.
The Vikings will host Concordia St. Paul on Sept. 19. Game is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be the inaugural game at the team's new on-campus field.
