The Augustana volleyball team beat the University of Mary 3-0 Friday night at the Elmen Center. The Vikings won 25-23, 25-16, and 29-17.
The win improves Augie to 6-8 overall and 1-1 in the NSIC. U-Mary falls to 6-7 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
Augie got off to a 3-0 lead thanks to a serving run by freshman setter

Jenna Hultgren tied the match at 22-22. An attack error by U-Mary's Denise Enebo gave Augie the one point lead, but the Marauders tied it again after a service error by junior outside

The third set remained close the entire way with neither team able to pull away. Augie had a match point at 24-23 when U-Mary's Allison Christian pounded a kill to tie the score at 24-24. Hultgren recorded an attack error to give U-Mary a game point then rebounded by putting down a set from Haley to tie the score at 25-25. The Marauders gained the lead again on a kill before Augie tied it up with a block from Hultgren and Erickson. Hultgren recorded another attack error, but a kill by senior right side
Ellen Andrews tied the score at 27-27. A block by Andrews and Erickson gave the Vikings another chance at game point, and an Andrews kill from freshman setter Brianna Brandt ended the set at 29-27.
Andrews recorded 11 kills and three blocks in the match, and Hultgren added nine kills. Erickson tallied four blocks while Johnson contributed three blocks of her own. Freshman libero
Grace Sanders collected 16 digs and Talcott added 10. Haley recorded a match-high 29 assists.
The Vikings will be back in action tomorrow night as they play the Northern State Wolves at 4 p.m. at the Elmen Center.
