The Augustana soccer team recorded its second tie of the weekend after finishing 0-0 in double overtime against St. Cloud State on Sunday.
The tie moves Augie to 3-3-3 on the season and 0-0-2 in NSIC play. The Huskies are now 2-2-3 overall and 1-0-1 in the conference.
Augie dominated in the first half, outshooting St. Cloud State 11-0. The Vikings thought they had gained a one-point advantage when a shot by senior defender
Alicia DeHaan sailed into the goal at 29:31, but Augie was called offsides on the play, discrediting the goal.
The Huskies came alive in the second half, recording 10 shots to Augie's four. At the 77:55 mark, sophomore defender
Stacy Dally put a shot into the back of the St. Cloud net, but Augie was called offsides again, keeping the score at 0-0. With less than six minutes left in regulation, St. Cloud State's Alexandra Pafko nearly scored, but her shot hit the crossbar. Neither team would get another chance, sending the game into overtime.
Just five minutes into the first overtime period,
Stacy Dally took a shot from the right side of the field that seemed to be headed into the left side of the goal. St. Cloud State's goalkeeper Elizabeth Kelly lunged toward the ball, knocking it wide with her fingertips. The Vikings also had a corner kick attempt at the 99:25 mark, but were unable to capitalize, and the game headed to double overtime.
Augie recorded three shots in the second overtime but was unable to score as the game ended in a 0-0 tie. This marks Augustana's fifth double-overtime game in their last six games.

The Vikings will be on the road next weekend as they play the Wolves of Northern State in Aberdeen, S.D. on Saturday at 11 a.m. They will then head to Bismarck, N.D. for a 1 p.m. contest against U-Mary on Sunday.
