Sophomore guard
Molly Hayes recorded her second 20-point game in as many nights as she helped lead the Vikings over Winona State. Augie collected their second win of the weekend, defeating the Warriors 84-71.
The win improves the Vikings to 13-3 on the season and 7-2 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Winona State took control right from the beginning, outscoring the Vikings 10-4 in the first 4:24 of the game.

The Warriors were able to build their lead again, making three tres in the next 4:40. This put them up 29-22 with just 5:10 remaining in the half.
The Vikings then scored nine unanswered points, taking the lead at 31-29 with 2:29 on the clock. Winona State outscored the Vikings 8-4 to end the half with a 37-35 lead.
Augie narrowly outshot the Warriors in the first half, shooting 45.2 percent (14 of 31) from the field while Winona State was 41.9 (13 of 31). The difference was from long range, with the Vikings shooting only 33.3 percent (4 of 12) from behind the arc and the Warriors making 60 percent (6 of 10).
Doyle started the second half out by draining a three, but Winona State scored seven unanswered points to earn a 44-38 lead in the first three minutes of the second half.
Augie pushed back, and a 3-pointer by Hayes at the 13:36 mark gave the Vikings the 49-48 advantage.
The teams traded the lead for the next three minutes until Augie's offense took off, outscoring Winona State 19-4 in the next 11 minutes. That run included a stretch of three 3-pointers in a row, with two of them coming from sophomore forward
Faith Tinklenberg. This gave the Vikings their biggest lead of the night with a 74-60 margin with just 3:11 remaining.
Winona State started desperation fouling, but Augie made eight straight free throws to earn the win.
The Vikings were 48.3 percent (29 of 60) from the field and 37 percent (10 of 27) from 3-point range. The Warriors were 40.7 percent (24 of 59) shooting and 47.1 percent (8 of 17) from behind the arc.
Augie made 16 of 18 free throws (88.9 percent) and collected 25 assists as a team with only eight turnovers.
Hayes led all scorers with 22 points on 6 of 9 shooting. She also dished out seven assists.
Tinklenberg added 13 points while Board contributed 12.
Michelle McDonald led the Warriors with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
The Vikings will be back at home next weekend, taking on Southwest Minnesota State for a 6 p.m. contest on Friday followed by a 5 p.m. matchup with Minnesota State on Saturday.
