The series of events quickly set the Vikings back 12-6, which was a large enough deficit that Augustana was not ever able to recover.

Again in the second set the Vikings experienced a series of errors that allowed an 11-11 tie in the score to slip away. In the seven points that followed after the knot in the score, Augustana only snatched one off an MSUM attack error. The Dragons were able to put together another run of four points to close the set 25-18.

The Dragons ran with momentum into the final set and never slowed. MSUM jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead and then won another five consecutive points after the score was 4-2 to spring ahead of the Vikings 9-2. Augustana was led to a late rally behind the serve of Kayla Wallerich but the effort would fall short as MSUM would finish off the sweep 25-21.
