SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Maren Werth scored the only goal in Saturday afternoon's Senior Day match to lift Augustana to a 1-0 win over Minnesota Duluth in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The Vikings' move to 5-6-2 (4-3-1 NSIC), while Minnesota Duluth drops to 7-4-2 (7-2-0 NSIC.
Amanda Wagner recorded seven saves for the Vikings to earn her second shutout this season.
Stephanie Goos and Werth each tallied two shots with both of them on goal.
Katie Hurd also kicked two shots.
Augustana was outshot during the first period as the Bulldogs fired 13 shots compared to the Vikings' seven. However, it was Augustana that took advantage of its scoring opportunities as Werth scored a breakaway goal at 26:38 off an assist from
Jessie Huff.
UMD held Augustana to a mere three shots in the second period but it wouldn't matter as the Bulldogs' eight shots were never fired past Wagner.
Wagner made seven stops in the afternoon, while UMD's Hannah Bengston tallied six.
The Vikings will be back on the field for their last home match of the season on Sunday at 1 p.m. against Bemidji State.
