Keeper Amanda Wagner was strong in goal, but Augustana wasn't able to muster up much offensively in a 1-0 loss against Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opponent Bemidji State this afternoon in Sioux Falls, S.D. 

The Vikings are now 5-7-2 (3-4-1 NSIC).  BSU improves to 11-2-0 (8-2-0 NSIC). 

Stacy Dally and Katie Bowman had three shots each in the contest. Jill Goodrich was the only other Viking to fire at the net, shooting twice.

The first period had limited action with Augustana outshooting BSU 5-4.

At 54:53 in the second period Bri Scanlan broke a scoreless tie to put BSU ahead of the Vikings 1-0.

Augustana remained in a favorable position, only down by one shortly into the second half, but the Vikings never found an opportunity to score and would only record three shots during the half. The Beavers went on to record 15 shots throughout the second period.

Wagner remained busy during the match, tallying six saves.

The Beavers were more precise than the Vikings with seven shots on goal. Augustana had three.

The match against BSU concludes Augustana's home contests for the season. On Oct. 23 and 24 the Vikings will take the road to play Minnesota, Crookston and Minnesota State Moorhead. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
