– No. 1-ranked Concordia University, St. Paul hit .385 Saturday night in Sioux Falls, S.D. to defeat Augustana 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-16) in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference volleyball.
CU improves to 22-4 (17-0 NSIC); Augustana is 12-14 (8-9 NSIC).

Jordan Spatenka was the only Viking to hit in double-figures, tallying 11.

Dani Haley had 26 assists.

Christine Bielski led the Vikings in digs with eight.

The Vikings opened the match playing steady, battling ties and swapping leads with the Golden Bears until CU took control after a knot in the score at 8-8. CU gained a 12-9 advantage over Augustana and continued to inch away from the Vikings, never facing a deficit. Augustana outhit CU 13-12 but committed eight errors while the Golden Bears had just four.

Augustana started off the second set strong, recording six kills to top CU 8-5, but the lead didn't last long as the Golden Bears went on a 12-9 run. The Vikings continued to trial behind CU during the remainder of the set. With the Vikings down 24-21, CU tallied its 21st kill of the set to take the set.

CU recorded another 20 kills in the final set to hit .438. The Golden Bears had as much as an 11-point lead over Augustana during the set. The Vikings hit .192.

CU's Megan Carlson led both teams with 12 kills in the evening.

Augustana had seven blocks; CU had five.

CU moved its NSIC winning streak to 69 matches. 

The Vikings will return to the court Nov. 5 and 6 on the road against Upper Iowa and Winona State.
