Augustana suffered its first setbacks of the season as the Vikings dropped a pair of games Thursday at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla. Augsutana lost 2-0 to Adelphi and 7-5 to New Haven.
The No. 22 Vikings fell to 13-2 on the season as their 13-game winning streak came to an end.
Against Adelphi, Augustana's
Britt Stewart locked up in a pitcher's duel with Adelphi's Christine Robinson. Both pitchers allowed only 4 hits. However, Adelphi was the team that came up with the big hits.
In the Adelphi second Gina DeTillio singled with 2 outs. Heather Salerno followed with a double that scored DeTilliio.
Then in the fourth, Adelphi added an insurance run. Robinson helped her cause with a double. After doubling to lead off the inning, she was sacrificed to third and scored on a ground out.
Augustana couldn't get its offense going as the Vikings managed to get just 1 runner to third base, and that came with 2 outs in the fourth inning.
The Vikings got off to a good start against New Haven as they scored 3 runs on 2 hits to go along with 2 walks and 3 stolen bases.

Chelsey Durland each had RBI singles in the inning, while
Kelsey Kalkman lofted a sacrifice fly.
After New Haven tied the score on a 3-run home run by Courtney Garland in the top of the second inning, the Vikings reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the inning.
Shelby Thompson led off the inning with a walk.
Kayla Henke dropped a sacrifice bunt. UNH first baseman Gabby Cruz then tried to pick off Thompson at second base, but her throw went out into left centerfield, allowing Thompson to score.
New Haven tied the score at 4-4 with a run in the fifth inning and took the lead for good with 3 runs in the sixth, capped by a 2-run single by Garland.

Traci Fransen homered in the bottom of the sixth inning, but that was the final Viking scoring threat.
Again the Vikings had 4 hits, including 2 by Fransen.
Ashley Meyer suffered the loss on the mound. Meyer pitched 5 innings and allowed 4 runs, all earned, on 6 hits.
Augustana returns to action with a pair of games on Friday. The Vikings face Bridgeport at 9 a.m. EDT and Kentucky Wesleyan at 1 p.m. EDT.
