Barnstormer Player of the Week: (Week 11)
Tommy Ellingworth-WR/DB-#10 Week 10 Line: 5 receptions for 88 yds and 3 touchdowns
With the announcement of Tim Dodge's retirement coming only days before the teams match up with the Alabama Vipers many wondered who would be able to fill his shoes. Tommy Ellingworth stepped up and showed 'Stormer Nation the talent he has. Ellingworth got his first start on Saturday night and with five catches for 88 yards and three touchdowns he was able to showcase what he had been working so hard on up to this point. Ellingworth started games late last season as well, primary in the backfield as a defensive back where he played very well at finishing the year with 22 tackles and one interception in five games. Now Ellingworth has shown to be a major component on both sides of the field.
Ellingworth graduated from Augustana in 2006. He finished his senior season with 55 reception for 651 yards--ranking eighth in the North Central Conference in both receptions and receiving yards. Ellingworth was named All-NCC second team during his senior season.
Ellingworth and the Barnstormers are back in action on Saturday, facing Bossier-Shreveport Battlewings on the road.
