ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Behind a strong offensive performance, the Augustana soccer team was able to earn its first win of the season over Minnesota State Moorhead in a 2-1 contest Friday evening in St. Cloud, Minn., at the NSIC Festival.
Augustana improves to 1-3 overall, while MSUM drops to 0-3.
Katie Bowman scored the first goal of the season for the Vikings at 19:58 in the first period to give her squad a 1-0 advantage. 
Katie Shandri was credited with the assist.
Soon after, the Vikings tacked on another goal when Shandri found the back of the net off a penalty kick. 
Augustana outshot MSU 12-6 during the first period and 16-13 overall. 
The Dragons battled back late into the second period, scoring their lone goal at 83:41.
Amanda Wagner came up big for the Vikings, making six stops in the game. 
Shandri led Augustana with a team-high three shots--two of them on goal. 
The Vikings continue action in St. Cloud, Minn., on Sunday at 11 a.m. against Minnesota, Crookston.
