Augustana finishes in 0-0 tie with Minnesota, Crookston

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Despite recording 24 shots, Augustana tied Minnesota, Crookston 0-0 in double overtime Sunday afternoon at the Northern Sun Festival in St. Cloud, Minn.

Augustana's offense, though scorless, was active throughout as the Vikings had eight of those 24 shot  on goal. UMC charted just three shots, with none on goal, leaving no action for Vikings goalkeeper Amanda Wagner.

Katie Shandry recorded eight of those shots for Augustana, while Jessie Huff followed close behind with five.

Augustana had three scoring opportunities during overtime. The first came from Huff during the 96th minute, and the following two shots occurred in the second overtime. Katie Hurd almost found the back of the net with just 16 seconds left in overtime play. The Vikings didn't even allow UMC to record a shot during overtime.

The Vikings next action is at home on Sept. 18 when they open conference play against U-Mary at 11 a.m.
