This week: Augustana (3-3-2, 2-0-1 NSIC) takes to the road this weekend, first traveling to Fayette, Iowa, on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match against Upper Iowa (5-2-0, 1-2-0 NSIC ) followed by a trip to Winona, Minn., on Sunday to play Winona State (5-3-0, 2-1-0 NSIC) at 1 p.m.
Series records: The Vikings first played Upper Iowa in 2007, and the two schools currently stand at an even 1-1-1 tie in the series (all-time scores vs. Upper Iowa) . The first year the schools matched up, Augustana lost 3-2.  In 2008, the Vikings celebrated a 2-1 win over the Peacocks but tied 0-0 in double overtime last season.  Augustana has lost all six matches it has played against Winona State (all-time scores vs. Winona State).  In 2005, the Vikings played the Warriors for the first time in a home match and lost 4-1 but recorded their only goal ever scored against WSU.
Last time out: Last Sunday Augustana continued conference play at home against Wayne State and had a 2-1 victory.
On a roll: This marks the second consecutive week Augustana has earned Offensive Player of the Week honors from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.  Stacy Dally picked up the honor this week for her play during last Sunday's win over Wayne State.  Dally scored both goals in Augustana's 2-1 victory over the Wildcats. Dally found the back of the net in the 16th minute to open scoring and punched in the game-winning goal on a penalty kick in the 31st minute. The goals were the first of the season for the junior, bringing her point total to six.  Katie Shandri was the first Viking this season to receive the award.
Shots for Shandri: Katie Shandri continues to lead the Vikings with 30 shots, 16 on goal.  Shandri is also no stranger to finding the back of the net, having scored four goals, with two of them game winning.
Stacy is a star: Stacy Dally is creeping her way to the top of Augustana's lineup with six points from two goals and two assists.  Other totals for Dally include four shots, all of them on goal.
Goalie goddess: Amanda Wagner owns a 3-3-2 (2-0-1 NSIC) record as the starting goalkeeper for the Vikings.  Wagner has made 49 stops on the season to earn a .875 save percentage.  She has allowed seven goals and recorded one shutout against Minnesota, Crookston.
The elders: Augustana returns 20 players to this season's roster. Among them are sophomore Jessie Huff and junior Kate Timmons who were named 2010 Preseason Players to Watch in the 2010 NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Huff scored seven goals last season, while Timmons recorded one assist.
The coach: Augustana head coach Brandon Barkus enters his fifth season on the Vikings sideline in 2010. Barkus owns a record of 36-37-12 at Augustana. In 2008 Barkus' squad put together the most successful season in school history, finishing 13-6-1 and 10-3 in NSIC play. The 2008 team also made the NCAA Division II tournament for the first time in school history. Barkus is assisted by Clay Glasgow and Dale Weiler.
According to the coaches: The Vikings were selected to finish sixth in the annual NSIC preseason poll, which was voted on by the 14 head coaches. Augustana received 104 points in the poll. Winona State's nine first-place votes and 162 points led them to nab the top spot, while Minnesota State, Minnesota Duluth, St. Cloud State and U-Mary also came in ahead of the Vikings.
